Hamster or Guinea Pig

I’m not sure if I want to get hamster or guinea pig. I have seen lots of mixed reviews on which one would make a better pet. I am looking for something cute and cuddly, but not high maintenance. The only pet I’ve previously owned was a fish. So which do you recommend is the best next pet from a fish?
