Shooting as a Hobby?

Hi!! I'm 17f for context. So my family has a Marlin .22 semiauto rifle, and my gunsmith friend (lets call him L) is really encouraging me to get into shooting as a hobby. The gun belongs to my parents but they have never touched it nor know how to operate it, but L has offered to help me with any hiccups with the gun/form tips.

I used to shoot bow and arrow when I was younger and LOVED it to death. I believe I would actually really enjoy shooting as a hobby. My concerns are costs and time.

I have to work when I can to finance my college (I'm on my own with that), I have 1.5 years more of HS, I play guitar and violin and draw and do rugby and also am in my HS's orchestra. Not to mention occasionally hanging out with friends. Then again, I spend a lot of time bedrotting anyways •́⁠ ⁠ ⁠‿⁠ ⁠,⁠•̀

So... Do you think I should take it up as a hobby? Thanks so much!!
