Advice on Tooth-Breaking
Picture for attention (but also he's just very, very cute).
Ozzy has now broken 3 teeth in the space of a month - does anyone have advice that could help save his teeth (and my bank account)? I looked into pet insurance and the excess cost makes it not worth it.
Housing - he lives on fleece but gets a regular (closely watched!) run around the living room - he has several chew balls that I rotate and some hanging chew toys
Current diet
- hay is accessible all day every day
- forage, pellets, readigrass also on offer
- fresh veggies every evening (little gem and cucumber daily, tiny amounts of broccoli [because of the bloat risk], apple, carrot, tomato, and bell pepper on rotation, banana like once every three weeks) - if anyone has any more recommendations please tell me, I've tried sugar snaps and asparagus and celery and he won't touch them
Changes
- I have now changed his pellets to Science Selective
- I have Beaphar vitamin drops to add to his water (I discussed this with the vet and she said it would be a good idea)
- I switched out his ceramic dishes for a melamine plate thing, and I mix the forage and pellets and some readigrass and hay together for some enrichment.
Thanks!
