Is it true Wood TV8 Meteorologist Bill Steffen is a climate denialist and a conservative

Being from West Michigan, I watched a lot of Wood TV8 and their weather reporting from Bill Steffen. I generally like him and he seems to have local legend status, but I’ve heard from people he’s a climate change denialist and a conservative. How true is this?
