Golfed for 4 years the wrong way …
I tried golfing when I was 16 and tried it lefty (I played baseball lefty), and I couldn’t hit the ball. Being a teenager and not caring, I quit on my first bucket and didn’t pick it back up again until COVID happened (6 years later).
My step dad had a set of righty clubs so I decided to just grab his clubs and start practicing righty since lefty didn’t work out the first time. Fast forward FOUR YEARS and I’m still a bad golfer (I can chip and putt very well but can’t hit anything else consistently). I’m playing in a tournament with my buddies friend and while we’re chatting I mentioned how I played baseball in college and he looked at me confused because he said my golf swing sucked (lol). I told him I actually hit lefty in baseball and he told me I should try lefty one time to see.
I snagged an old set off him for $50, headed to the range, and i haven’t hit a golf ball this good ever. This is my first ever range sessions lefty - any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated. But how’s this swing look for the first day? It felts great and I was hitting each club 20-30 yards further than from the right.
TLDR; I’m stupid and golfed the opposite way from what my body was used to for 20+ years
