Vitamins

Can we please talk about vitamins? One of my biggest reservations is being on vitamins for the rest of my life. Anyone who has had the surgery 5+ years ago, can you please let me know your experience with vitamins? Did you remember to always take them? Did you ever lapse? If you did, what were the consequences?
