Second home in Lauderdale

Hello -

I am from Michigan looking to buy a second home in Florida. We enjoy southeast Florida and are thinking about the Lauderdale area. We’ve spent time in Lauderdale by the Sea and Galt Mile but am looking for any advice/suggestions.

We are a young family with young children so safety, family friendliness are non-negotiable. Hoping to be close to good restaurants and relaxed nightlife for evenings out with the Mrs.
