Soulless Afton Theory

Recently I’ve been trying to find a motive for why William became the way he is was, but after awhile I reached a dead end and couldn’t find anything. I started watching a Undertale Playthrough and after finishing it my mind started to think of an idea.

(Please Remember this is just a Theory).

In Undertale the Main Antagonist is a Sentient Flower named Flowey, Flowey is Sinister, Malicious, Sadistic, Deceptive, Manipulative and Emotionally Detached. The Reason for Him being this way is because he doesn’t have a Soul and once he absorbed the souls and becomes Asriel he’s able to regain his Emotions.

Now I’ve been looking at each version of William Afton (Games - Books and Movie) and I think I have an understanding for his character. He’s Apathetic - Narcissistic - Psychopatnic and/or Sociopathic and he’s Emotionally Hollow, he doesn’t seem to care for anyone but himself and he seems to view others as Inferior. And we know at some point William takes the Endoskeletons containing the MCI Victims and uses them to experiment with the Funtimes.

So my Theory is that could the reason why William is the way he is and has committed all the crimes he has as well as Experimenting with Souls is because he himself is Soulless (Whether Literally or Metaphorically).
