What are your thoughts on the Dawntrail blacklist, mute list and term filter update so far?
(Yes I'm aware some of you have been enjoying these features before 7.0 so much so that Yoship and friends borrowed from them)
Honestly, I think blacklist now voiding people is one of the greatest changes that came with this expansion. While reducing harassment from creeps was probably the main priority, for me it's been immense for dealing with visual distractions. On top of misophonia I also have misokinesia, so repetitive visual movements made by other players and minions etc when I'm trying to focus on interacting with my retainer or whatnot are very stressful. Even without either condition, I think most of us could agree that people repeatedly crafting or desynthing within a couple of yalms or literally on top of a city retainer bell are quite irritating and inconsiderate. Now instead of a time consuming, likely ineffectual confrontation, the matter can be taken into your own hands. The ability to write tags for blacklisted players is also nice for distinguishing bellcrafters, savage memers, and bigots as well.
The addition of the mute list is also welcome, as if you've been using the old blacklist primarily to block chat messages, it's essentially 200 more slots. The term filter also helps.. but it's where I have the most criticism. Only 10 slots and being case sensitive (yes you can kinda get around it by leaving out the first letter) makes curating your online experience a whole strategic exercise. I would strongly appreciate an increase to 20 slots minimum with an option to toggle case sensitivity.
Oh, and the function hide other players around or when speaking to a quest NPC is also helpful. I would like an option to make the radius bigger, and keep it active when I'm talking to the other NPCs near the quest NPC, though.
