Avoiding players on “tanking” teams
Lately I’ve been seeing a narrative on purposely avoiding players on bad teams that have a high incentive to tank for the season. Some of the big names include Scottie Barnes & Lauri Markkanen along with a host of others. Is this really something people factor into while drafting? Passing up on Scottie (top 20 upside player) due to the state of the team? Just curious how viable this argument really is. I find it odd that teams would pay guys like Quickley millions just to sit him out additional time. What are everyone’s thoughts on this?
