There now might be ONE dark and depressing reason the Saints might end up winning and helping us out on Sunday (although it shouldn't have gotten to this point)
Obviously, it's been well documented that the Saints have nothing to play for, as their team us depleted, they're eliminated and probably hate us more than they hate Tampa.
But...as messed up as it sounds, I'm have to address the elephant in the room: The NYE attack on Bourbon St.
It's obviously a horrific, heartbreaking tragedy and a disgusting act of terrorism. Rest in Peace to those who were killed and may the city of New Orleans and the State of Louisiana heal and come back stronger. I really hope us Falcons fans can give our thoughts and prayers to NOLA, at the end of the day we're all human and some things are bigger than football.
Now - the thing about tragedies and sports is that something like that might be enough to motivate a team to help heal their city by giving the fanbase a win. We've seen it time and time again in the past, especially with New Orleans (right after Katrina)
I feel so awful for even bringing this up, especially it so fresh in everyone's mind. I really wish the Falcons got the job done in DC and won the game, it would've made everything a lot more simpler and we wouldn't resort to having to depend on the Bucs losing. But this is the reality - The Saints might actually have something to play for on Sunday, and it might end up being the reason we make the playoffs, as messed up as it sounds.
