Revv1 or Electra Ponto Go?
I'm looking to get my first ebike, and I think I'm down to two moped style bikes.
There's a giant/trek lbs near me, and the owner has been very friendly and helpful and has let me test ride the two giant ebikes he has in stock around the parking lot, so I'd really like to support his shop. He recently told me about the Ponto Go that was recently released, which sounds awesome. One of the things I like most about it is that I'd be able to put my wife on the back to go get ice cream or something. I also want her to like it so shell get into biking with me on her own bike. The only things I think it's missing for me is a rear suspension and a higher max speed (it's only 26 mph w/ pedal assist).
I'm kind of handy but it would also be nice to be able to fall back on bike shop support if I run into an issue I can't fix. Unfortunately there's barely any reviews or testimonials for this bike online, and that's something I really want to see before I buy.
I've also been checking out a lot of online bike companies, and the ride1up revv1 looks way better than the Ponto, with a rear suspension and 35 mph top speed. There are tons of articles and videos raving about how fun it is to ride. It seems like serious issues requiring support from the company are rare, but I've seen just as many negative as positive testimonials about their customer service.
I saw a video about the Ponto on YouTube where someone said there's a dongle to unlock it to make it faster and punchier, but I haven't seen it heard of anything else about it online. I think I can deal with the lack of rear suspension, but did anyone know if it will be possible to upgrade the speed?
