Is the old school UK Dubstep sound making a comeback within the genre?
I really want to talk about an interesting topic that's currently happening with the Dubstep genre itself that I feel might be beginning a part of a pattern of a slow transition within Dubstep changing it's sound once again from it's 20+ year history.
I have suddenly starting noticing the slow shift since the start of the 2020's that the original Dubstep genre vibe from London is starting to slowly gain traction and is getting more refined to slowly starting to become popular again it seems.
With Skrillex releasing Quest for Fire several days ago, it's coming full circle for his EDM career seeming to take a huge interest in the original UK sound as he's got older, which has seeming now aged better than the mainstream modern dubstep that dominated the US from the early 2010's with how it aged compared to now, especially as it keep back to the underground and got seasoned away from the limelight as US dub/brostep was pushed to the front of the charts.
2022-2023 to me really seems like the start of UK Dub really getting bigger and more popular which hasn't been seen properly since 2005-2008 when Skream & Benga were in their primes within the genre in the underground and when London was absolutely booming with dark, gritty underground raves with absolutely massive speakers and subwoofers vibrating your whole body.
Is there only good things to be excited about original Dubstep scene these days as a fan do you all think now? What do you guys all think about the Dubstep genre overall these days?
Nice one guys! Hope we can discuss it!
