Getting back into playing, almost 15 years later. Need advice on a kit.

Pretty much as the title suggests, I need help deciding on a kit. I sold mine nearly 15 years ago, I believe it was a 2003 Tama Rockstar (kit in attached photo) I've been out of it for so long, trying to research it now, get reviews/opinions, etc... has me so deep in the woods I've found Narnia... so, help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope! My head is spinning!

All totalled, I will probably have around $3500-4000 to spend, plus finance more if needed, for a short time. Thats not an issue I've been looking at PDP 7pc Concept Maple. I will admit... "I like big kits, and I cannot lie...." I not a gig drummer. This is for home. For fun to get back to my passion.

Besides the PDP, is there anything you recommend?

Play style is heavier, obviously. Wasn't playing jazz with that kit. Double kick pedal. Plenty of cymbals. The intent it to also build upon. I'm not looking to get the old Tama, as it was right off the bat. My gripe with that Tama was the Toms had tunning issues. Obviously that was years ago..

I known the post is fairly vague, but I'm not looking for a complete build suggestion, just something to steer me in the right direction. Maybe looking at a better kit? Maybe a lateral move from the PDP? Whatever your collective knowledge can offer is appreciated!
