Lessoned drummers, what’s something you learned from schooling that most self-taught drummers miss?
Looking for the less-common stuff. We’ve all heard things like “use the click” track and “basic fundamentals,” a thousand times.
But what’s something you learned through your music education that we don’t hear about much?
For instance, I’ve gone over the rudiments time and again, but have a hard time orchestrating them on the kit in a good-sounding, musical way. I can play paradiddle, but how do you use your feet with it? Or make it interesting in a linear sense? (Things like that, if that makes any sense).
