Dumped Car
This Type R has been parked outside our house since December 2nd 2024 (I know this because we have a ring doorbell). It’s on a private development and is parked in a visitors space, and so technically I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with it being there. I did email the local council who confirmed that as it’s taxed and MOT’d (until July) they won’t touch it.
I did have a peek inside the car for any clues, as it has been over 6 weeks now and noticed a car battery in the drivers footwell. I can only assume this is the battery from the car and the owner has intentionally disconnected it knowing he will be leaving the car for a while.
Hilariously, the chaps’ instagram handle is stickered on the outside of the car and on having a look, it’s clearly used as a track car and so my assumption is he’s decided to leave it here over the winter. Anyway… am I being a little OTT finding the car being there annoying? I think it’s quite rude/selfish of the owner to “dump” his spare car somewhere he doesn’t live and perhaps slightly stupid to leave your instagram handle on the side…
I should mention based on having the name of this guy and doing some internet digging, I am 99% sure he doesn’t live on this development or in fact within 10 miles of it.
Visitors spaces are finite here and over Christmas in particular it was quite frustrating having one less available for friends and relatives. What are your thoughts?
