The Veilguard is too Magical
I don't know how many people will agree with this. Since Veilguard came out I decided I would replay the entire series. I had a blast with Origins, loved the emotions and relationships in Da2. Enjoyed inquisition despite some bugs and jank on the Xbox. Playing a warrior, mage and rogue. I went into Veilguard aware of a lot of the criticism of the writing but excited to learn a whole new cast of characters. What I wasn't ready for however was for my dwarven warrior to actually be Captain America. I play a warrior because I don't want to deal with magic. I want the power fantasy of being a walking bulwark, slaying foes and protecting friends with skill of arms alone. When I'm ricocheting shields around or calling magical swords from the sky. I don't feel like a warrior. I feel like a mage with a sword. I understand that maybe it's a boring take and I might want to play the game in a boring way. But I don't have the option to not be magical without hamstringing myself. I do enjoy playing a mage occasionally too. I just think the magical effects should be left to them with the warriors actually focusing on feats of strength instead.
