Help needed

We have 1.5 y.o. spaniel and my partner is trying to convince me to get rid of the dog.

She is not a dog person and majority of small details are annoying her. On top, all adolescent things are stacking up. In short, standards and obedience level requirements are high for a dog to be likeable.

Dog’s obedience isn’t perfect, especially in distracting environment. And mostly it’s caused by reactivity and being scared of things.

We’ve recently welcomed a baby to our family and naturally the dog is curious about new toys, activities, sounds. I’m teaching her boundaries but the progress is slow and it is annoying my wife.

I’m looking for an advice on how to deal with the situation of training a dog to be around the baby and my wife. Additionally, if I can hope that adolescence is going to end soon and the dog will settle down a bit more.
