Glyphs after lvl 45 doesn't seem worth further ?

Just wondering if once you upgrade glyphs to 45 , there is no gain after right ?? I have upgraded mine to 53 . Have I wasted glyphs points taking these glyphs to 53 rather than stop upgrading after 45 .
