Baqsimi, Why You Hurt So Much?!?

Figured y'all would appreciate the story:
I had an upper scope done yesterday, which meant I had to fast for the procedure. In that way that diabetes goes, I woke up to get ready for the hospital visit at 3.9 mmol/l (70mg/dl). I decided, since 1.5 hours before the procedure is way too close for the usual oral hypo treatments (again, supposed to be fasting), that I'd use Baqsimi for the first time instead.

So, put the Baqsimi device up my nose, pushed the plunger, and released what I can only describe as a combination of pure rubbing alcohol and molten metal into my right sinuses. There must have been a leak in my upper sinus, because the molten metal proceeded to coat the inside of the right side of my skull all the way to about where a baseball cap would sit at the back of my head.

The alcohol and metal must have come out in railroad spike form, because after the initial kick to the face wore off, I had a distinct spike shaped pain going through my eyebrow and out the back of my head. I'm pretty sure my right eye was trying to jump ship out of my face to get away from whatever just happened to the rest of my face. I had a headache and earache for the rest of the day; minus the 45 glorious minutes where I was sedated for my procedure and can't remember/didn't care about anything. I now know that I will choose having a tube shoved down my throat over taking Baqsimi any day of the week.

I should say that if I ignored the non-stop tears and mucus running down my throat, it was the clearest my sinuses have been in a long time. At least molten metal can do that for you. It also makes the hospital Covid screening extra interesting: "Do you have a cough, sore throat, runny nose...?" "Yes, but it's because I snorted medical grade lava to be here this morning."

It's been more than 24 hours since I inflicted myself with the Baqsimi Sinus Experience™, and man, the experience is still with me.

I have to say: I have not regretted a diabetes related choice quite this much in a long time (and I have almost 40 years of questionable diabetes choices to pick from). Am now very motivated to never, ever, need to experience Baqsimi again. Good times.
