DO NOT EVER ORDER FOOD FROM BEHROUZ BIRYANI - If you're a vegetarian !!

Hey everyone, I am a Pandit, Brahmin hailing from Rajasthan, currently residing in Delhi.

Now 2 hours back i ordered Veg - Paneer biryani from Behrouz Biryani (Model Town branch). I was hungry so i started devouring the ordered biryani from Bherouz and halfway through the box i found a piece of strange looking piece of paneer in it.

To give some context, I’ve been a vegetarian my entire life, not just out of preference but because it’s tied to my beliefs and faith. As a Brahmin, my dietary choices are a significant part of my identity. My upbringing has been in a pure veg family to the point where i did not even held a real egg in my hand till I graduated. Finding meat in my food feels like my life has been turned upside down. Betrayal of trust and an outright violation of my principles.

I am in no way against any non-vegetarians, infact many of my friends are non-vegetarians but i never in my life intended to eat or even touch a piece of meat i am not able to think straight, sorry if it might sound weird to some people out there but i puked everywhere just after discovering that it wasn't paneer as it looked distinct.

I contacted zomato support and sent them a video asking if that strange cube was a piece of meat and they agreed and apologised.

This isn’t just upsetting because god knows how much i had already eaten until that discovery.

What makes this even worse is that this isn’t the first time it’s happened. Last year, I encountered the same issue at the same establishment. Because neither the box had any bill attached to it nor that green symbol and as soon as i opened the box I realised it wasn't paneer. I contacted zomato support who added the manager on conferance and he apologised for the mixup and i gave them the benefit of the doubt, chalking it up to an honest mistake. But now, I feel like my trust was misplaced.

I’ve attached a photo of what I found in the biryani as proof. It’s not just about me this is about accountability. Restaurants need to understand the seriousness of food safety and respect people’s dietary restrictions. Mistakes like these aren’t just “mistakes” for many of us they’re emotionally and culturally harmful.

Even the zomato customer agent asked me to refrain myself from such outlets as they mix utensils and gravy and what not, but then why that green tag??

BEHROUZ BIRYANI HAS PAN INDIA PRESENCE AND NO SAFETY PROTOCOLS IN PLACE. We don't know how many people were fooled by them till date.

I’m sharing this here because I want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar. And also, what would you suggest I do next? Should I escalate this beyond just contacting the restaurant?

Thanks for reading i really needed to get this off my chest. Would appreciate any advice or support.

Tldr : Pandit, Brahmin found chicken pieces in my biryani. What should i do?
