Incoming highschool senior broke up with boyfriend for college but we promised to keep in touch
My (17 F) boyfriend (17M) is my bestfriend, truly. His parents made us break up earlier this summer because they want him not to be tied to a single person while he's still growing up. I know there's a chance highschool relationships won't last in college, where we will be a year from now, so I guess I agree that it's for the best if we break up.
Problem is, we still talk. We know we still love each other, but we have now set each other free and we're allowed to date other people now. In college, our schools will be 3 hours apart, and we'll both be moving to new places. We want to still meet each other, albeit just friends (with mixed feelings I'm sure). We promised to still be friends and to meet each other when we can in college because we remind each other of home.
I really don't want to lose this guy. He's my bestfriend. We're going to make an effort to see each other when we can. Do you think our friendship can last 4 years?
