Let's talk about prices...
Let me start by saying: I love Civ. I have always bought all games and all expansions. I am a grown-up guy and I have no problems with paying for games, especially good games.
Today I opened Steam to buy Civ 7 for me and my friend as a birthday gift and I was quite surprised by the prices.
-72 $ for the base game. This is already higher then for any latest AAA. But you basically don't get full game for this price.
For 33 $ more you get: 5 days earlier access, some cosmetics, 2 variations of leaders and 1 future DLC. Now, you can for example get Phantom Liberty DLC for less then 25 $...
For an astounding price of 133 $, around 60$ more then a base game, you get to buy 2 more DLC's, an early access and a few more cosmetics.
Now, 60 $ is usually a price of a whole new AAA game, a full game. While here you are not even getting a future expansion, just a DLC.
I am sorry guys, but this is how GREED looks like.
Upd: To avoid misunderstanding. My main complaint is not the price of the base game, but what you are offered for 60$ more Founders Edition. Just as an example of major DLC pricing:
-Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: 25$ - Elden Ring, Shadow of Erdtree: 25$ - Destiny 2, Final shape: 45$ - Starfield (yes, I know) - 30$
How are 60$ for only DLCs, not a major expansion + an early access justified?
