Davidoff Yamasa Robusto
This is clearly a beautifully constructed cigar. It felt firm, but not too tightly packed. The first few puffs were not hugely flavourful, with oak being perhaps the only discernable note, but it wasn't long until the spice kicked in. It is a kind of red chilli spice, not overpowering, but definitely bold.
Further into the second third, some sweetness emerged. It is a cinnamon sweetness, maybe with a touch of nutmeg. The flavours are very well balanced. From the second third onwards, neither the spice nor the sweetness overshadow each other. It was somewhat like a cross between a rich dessert and the contents of a good spice cabinet.
I was quite impressed with the burn line, considering that there was moderate wind, and the draw had the perfect amount of resistance. Truly worthy of the level of quality I've come to expect from Davidoff.
