Nintendo Switch Lite unable to pin recipe

Hello I have just started the game on Nintendo switch lite and I could not even pass the tutorial stage. I need to press R to pin the recipe however nothing happens when I do so and I am just stuck there. My controls are all working fine I have checked in my settings but I am not sure why isn’t the game responding when I press on R. Anyone else faced the same issue?
