How is the handheld night mode of this camera?

I am considering the r50 as my upgrade from my sony a5100. However, one of the reasons I want to upgrade is I am looking for a camera which replicate kinda like how smartphones take photo's. Not style wise, but technical wise like the stacking of images. To reduce noise and improve quality. I have read in reviews that tha r50 of canon, kinda implemented this with its A+ feature and handheld night mode feature.

How do there features perform. Cannot stand that, out of hand, my samsung s23 ultra takes better pics at night compared to the a5100.
