How are you affording to live?

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in July. Surgery in August. Radiation therapy October-December. I'm about to start chemo.

I lost my job. Lost my insurance. I have about $30,000 in medical bills, and I've started racking them again with the new year.

How are any of you surviving financially? Sure, some folks will have a spouse who can afford to keep the household bills paid. What about anyone who is single?

(Also, being asked to donate $5 to cancer survivors at my kid's school felt a bit insulting, especially since the charity receiving the money never responded to my email or phone calls asking them about what services they provide.)
