Just bought Dell G2724D - It's OK.

Edit: Maybe not so OK. Color is really leaving me cold, and I pulled out an old colorimeter and it's brightness and contrast are way off as well. Plus more time using at night show a permanent glow in the bottom left corner.

From all I read this monitor seems like one of the better budget options.

No actual defects in my unit. No scratches, no dead pixels (but I'm not scrutinizing for them, none jump out at me).

Screen uniformity is overall good, but it darkens at bit near the edges, and it does have IPS glow which can be annoying at night when I turn the lights down, and play a darker game.

Response times. Seem fine to me. I did my own testing with Blur Buster UFO and the default Fast setting seems to work fine across the range, so I'm sticking with that.

Finally Colors. This panel might be natively a bit wider gamut than sRGB but Dell doesn't advertise it as such, and its probably only a bit wider.

I tried the sRGB mode which should be most accurate, but it looked washed out and blue tinted to me. Note I'm coming from an old sRGB NEC monitor with CCFL tubes, that have trended more red as they aged and I have warm room lighting. None of the settings was perfect. I settled on the WARM setting as it best matches my room lighting. Color balance looks good but saturation is a little high, but better than washed out sRGB setting.

Overall satisfied and it was a relative bargain.
