9700k kicking the bucket - best midrange upgrade path?

I've been running a 9700k since early 2019, and have been having weird perfomance / stability issues recently. Have not been able to pinpoint the exact cause but I think it's time to retire the old girl anyways. I mainly have been playing Hell Let Loose which is moderately resource intensive, and other small games like Factorio. I have a 3080 that is doing fine, so no need to upgrade that (unless I can snag a 5070 at launch for MSRP then I will).

Any recommendations for upgrade path? I haven't looked into hardware at all since college so I am not sure if Intel is still king or not
