What’s a good gpu for i7 8700k

My power supply just broke so i thought I might as well upgrade while I have my pc open. I have i7 8700k and a gtx 1070 rn.

In my mind the 1080ti is still the best card to ever touch our planet but I know the 10 series is outdated and kinda shit now so what’s good cards for my cpu? I haven’t kept up with graphics cards at all so.

I just want a rundown on the Nividia cards tbh. I know amd has been making huge strides but I know nothing about amd cards and not tryna learn rn.

I play old games so the 1070 has been fine but it would be nice to run 1440p on new games or even shit like Witcher 3.

My price range is like 1-900 probably. I don’t need the newest fancy shit, I want to know what a good card is that won’t be bottle necked by my CPU
