Cowboy tower, thoughts?
Id love to see a cowboy tower.
Tldr at the bottom Forgive the grammar, and organization of thoughts. Just got off a 48 hour shift.
Give me your thoughts and feedback, would love to hear it
Make it a support tower, as id give it one path to function like a monkey bank but less effective, the cattle baron. Another path that can support but can also do some popping, the sheriff. And one for pure bloon attack with smaller returns in support, the outlaw.
Top path, the outlaw: A bank robber that gets some more money per pop, like instead of get $1 per pop get $1.25. so after 4 pops you'd have $5 instead of $4 Or give it dynamite to blow stuff up and stun it, similar to (exactly like) the ninja. But maybe with a bigger aoe. Or bring back bloon chipper vibes and take a hostage like 1 Moab class, up to a zomg or ddt. Or like 3-5 lower level bloons. And increasing doubling their value like a ransom. Id say this path is more for popping through more layers, get the complete pop sooner than later to get the money sooner than later, and stalling with better returns in $$$
Middle path, the cattle baron: A rancher that gets cows every turn that you can sell to make some extra money with an activated ability to let the cows run amok (within its range) popping a layer or 3 and knocking bloons back to the start the range. This path would be able to attack. But, once it got to its third tier it'd stop attacking and be total support. Call the ability: "stampede" Let this path increase the range of the tower, maybe working up to a range similar to the super monkey for max stampede chaos.
Bottom path, the sheriff (I think Marshal sounds better, but that's just me): Opposite of the first path I spoke of, a monkey that uphold justice. Give it double guns (doubling the amount of bullets it can fire before reloading), or let him ride a horse (why not both?) chasing bloons around the map similar to the heli pursuit upgrade, but also let it slow bloons. Because we all know that we all drive a little slower when we see a cop rolling around🤣 But this path would increase the fire rate/reload speed.
Shower thoughts: Just putting my how to's and additional thought processes in writing
Id have the base cowboy shoot faster than an 002 sniper and only pop one layer in the beginning. But it'd have to reload every 6-10 shots. how long that takes? I don't do balance, I'm just the ideas guy. That's why number so far is a nice, easy to work with, round numbers that divides and multiple easily.
I don't think I'd give the monkey the ability to detect camo. Maybe the sheriff when they're rolling around on the horse but have the option (like a sub to either be submerged and support or not submerged and popping) to let it lose the ability to pop bloons in trade for camo detection. Maybe tier 5 it slows, detects camo and can pop. Or tier 5 lightning fast reloads and pops a lead bloon per shot.
For the cows id limit it to 25 total cows at the fifth upgrade, 10 at the third, and 15 at the fourth. Increasing its range with each tier upgrade because more cows=more land to roam. You would get 1 cow per round. Initially only let them be worth like $200. But after 10 rounds they reach max profit and increase their worth to $4000. Maybe $2000 instead of 4, because 4000 is alot... But it also takes time to get to max value.... conundrums... So at tier 5, you could potentially have $50k or 100k if you sold them all off at once. But to sell them just have a total profit like a monkey bank, no picking and choosing which to sell to optimize profits, it's all or nothing. And when you activate the stampede ability, lose 25-50% of your total cows you have at the moment.
The outlaw doesn't need to steal the ninja ability but I don't know what else to give it other than dynamite that stuns them... But it at max it could pop one below a ceramic bloon, don't want it to get into sniper monkey territory. But still want to optimize time to pop to get max profit. Maybe not double value for hostage pops Just give us the bloon chipper back.... But since that won't happen, hostages it is. Also popping hostages is kinda dark for a game like this...
Tl;Dr: Monkey support tower, "cowboy" Top path, the outlaw, that get you more money per pop. And can take hostages. Middle path, the cattle baron, that functions like a similar to a monkey bank with less returns however has the ability to let the cows run loose to knock bloons back to the start. Bottom path, the sheriff/Marshal, rides a horse around the map path shooting bloons and slowing them too.
