Supply drop during period

I got my period 2 months pp. Kill me. I’m now 4 months pp.

About 5 days before I get my period, and the whole 5-6 days I’m on my period, my supply drops drastically. My LO(4mo) becomes super fussy at the boob and my boobs just feel so much emptier in general. I don’t have a ton of milk stored in the freezer and I really would rather not use formula (no hate to formula fed/supplementing, I’m just worried my LO would have a bad reaction to it). LO is gaining weight perfectly, but I just feel so bad when she gets so fussy when eating.

Has anyone experienced this or have any advice? I’m making an appointment with my LC but just wanted to hear from the community first. 🩷 TIA
