Why does Walter cut off a fifth edge? [S03E01]

In the first episode of season 3, walter is cutting a PB&J sandwich. He cuts it 4 times, around each edge, then he cuts it another time. Jam is pushed out. Why does he do that? Is that just his anger and frustration?
