Favorite book you read in 2024?

I am going to list both my BOTM winner, and my overall book winner.

Keep in mind my favorite genres are Fantasy, Horror, Dystopian, Young Adult, Gay Male Romance, Sci-fi, and Murder Mystery.

Also, I only just began my BOTM journey this year with only 4 books bought. I am waiting for this months books! I chose A Killing Cold and A River Enchanted! 😁

With that being said here is my favorites.

BOTM: Gotta give it to The Reappearance of Rachel Price. I know that this isn't everyone's favorite Rachel Jackson book. It did drag a little bit in the beginning, and the ending felt a little rushed. However, in general it was still a page turner/staying up all night book for me!

The other three books I got this year from BOTM were Honey (I've not read it yet because of the bad reviews people gave it.), Definitely Better Now (It was out of my usual genres, but I really enjoyed it, just not as much as my winning pick), and The Thirteenth Child (Also not read yet, but really excited for it! It's my next book now that I finished Definitely Better Now.)

Overall book: Caraval. It might be recency bias, but I loved every moment of this book and can't wait to read the sequels! It was a great combination of YA, Fantasy, and even slight murder mystery vibes!

I'll be honest I didn't get to read much this year due to work and home life, I definitely plan to give myself a realistic goal for next year. I'm thinking 20 books, does that seem pretty realistic? In 2023 I read almost 30 books so I feel like I can do 20 next year!

I can't wait to hear everyone's replies and get myself tons of book recommendations!

You don't have to tell me why you picked what you picked, but I do hope you at least tell me the genre(s) so I can look into them if I want!
