Raccoon skull clean up advice

I sadly found a deceased baby raccoon in my yard back in May this year (it’s now November). I buried him in hopes to dig him up to receive the skull. How long do I wait to dig it back up? What’s the clean up gonna be like if any? Didn’t wrap him in anything just buried two feet in the ground with bricks on top so I remember where he’s at. The ground has too hard to dig so that’s as far as I could go. Filled the hole with spare dirt/ spare soil.
