My Boardgame Display After 1 Year

I was never into board games much. I was a big Magic the Gathering guy. But my wife and I got married two years ago and it’s something we could do together. We started with a couple games (Wingspan and Cascadia) and now it’s kind of grown into a bit of an obsession. It started because we started going to a board game cafe. We were hooked.

We love Worker Placement and Deck Building games and if both of those are in one game…perfection. So please leave a comment commenting on the display, the games in it, if you have any game recommendations or even examples of your own board game displays. My wife may throw some fairy lights up to backlight the display. But for now…here are my favorite games from my collection.

Clank Legacy: We love Clank and Catacombs is our absolute favorite but something about Legacy games just really click with us. Deck building like I said.

Dune Uprising: My #1 game right here. The amazing dread that I get playing this game is unreal. The strategy, the deck building, the worker placement, the theme. Dune Imperium is amazing but this is the best version of it.

Nemesis: I didn’t know I’d love this game this much. Yeah it’s Aliens in board game form but every game is different. Different characters, different scenarios. When the monsters hit, they can really hit. And the back stabbery makes it so fun. Only a few play through so far but hoping the excitement stays as much as it is now.

Star Realms: It’s quick, it’s easy to set up and put away. It can be mean. As a magic guy, this game makes me very happy. And we’ve played this probably more than any other game we own.

Earth: The best tableau builder I’ve played. The game is beautiful. The art is fantastic and it’s just so enjoyable. Everyone tells me Everdell is the best tableau builder, I’ve played it twice and never really enjoyed it. This one is for me though.

Foundations of Rome: This one was a bit expensive but every game is fun. The trading and stealing makes it even better. Very simple to set up and put away and it’s just terrific.

Games I’ve played that I don’t get the hype on: Everdell, Lost Ruins of Arnak (I feel it’s too short and just when I’m starting to move up the tracks, it’s over), Feast for Odin (too much going on for me), Wonderlands War (it’s fine but it didn’t play well at 2 for us plus not a huge Alice fan personally)

Let me know your must plays, things we may like, suggestions for the display, etc.
