Not getting control or snd in ranked?

Hey, I played around 2-3 hours of ranked today but only got one game of control and no search and destroy. I only played hardpoint. Is this normal, or am I just really unlucky? Any ways to overcome this? Control and snd are some of my favorite game modes. Thanks! For context, I played an hour with my friends (we were 4, so a full party), and they are 2-3 ranks below me. Could this be why? The rest of the time I played by myself.
