I miss the Ghost, Dead Silence, Suppressed Flanking playstyle.
Everything about the game has ruined this method. The maps, the perks (recon) the nerfed dead silence (it's just "quieter" footsteps now).
This was my main way of playing, flanking into the enemies spawn with the above, running all support streaks (UAV, CUAV).
The maps no longer have defined lanes. It's all shipment shaped bullshit. Tiny maps with no lanes, you can be killed from lots of different directions, and the spawns are terrible on these small maps.
I've played call of duty for a long time, since the early 2000s, before online multiplayer was even a thing. This has to be the worst set of base maps, ever. I'm not even exaggerating.
Recon is a massive issue. What's the point of ghost or dead silence with recon in the game? It completely ruins those perks and that method of playing.
And lastly, dead silence has been nerfed into just "quieter" footsteps. This only benefits the sweatiest players with headsets on listening for footsteps the entire match so they can pre-aim and pre-fire you around corners. Just pre-aiming is a huge advantage due to the delay on shooting while running, aka sprint-out time. It makes more sense for dead silence to truly be dead silence again because seeing someone at the same time they see you gives nobody an advantage - it's then all about reaction time. Or, encourages more strategic play where people slow down a bit and pre-aim around corners without knowing if someone will be there or not.
I like a lot of things about the game. The guns are good, the gun fights are fun, omni-movement is new and fun.
The score streaks seem a bit weak, but whatever.
We all know SBMM/EOMM is an issue but it's been beat to death for years. I'm honestly just going to start manipulating it to get into normal lobbies.
In the end I think this game has potential, but has some major issues. I've found myself barely playing it because the maps, imo, are the worst part of the game along with recon ruining my playstyle.
Anyone else?
