Desperate Job Search
Hi all, I am a statistician with MS in Statistics from Rutgers University. After graduating last year, I started my job at a small CRO.
Last week we had a huge layoff. About 30% of the employees were laid off including me.
Right now I am desperately looking for a job. I have 7 months of experience as a biostatistician in which I handled a few studies, led a few meetings with sponsors. Most of the 7 months went into learning as much as I can about clinical trials. And tbh I learned a lot and liked my job a lot too. I handled some ad-hoc projects all on own as well, which is to say I learned at least so much that I could bear that responsibility.
I am in a pretty dire situation right now. I have only 85 days left before I have to pack my bags and leave for my home country for good (because of the visa situation).
Please suggest me best course of action right now. I am trying to find all possible options. I want to know what all positions I should apply to, if possible what other positions/industries I can jump to using the skills in R, SAS, MS in Stats, and an MBA in Marketing.
