Baker Botts bonus fiasco

Baker Botts pretends to play with the big leagues, publicly announcing a “match” with purposely vague language for the special bonus.

But when the individualized bonus memos came out, most people who hit their normal hours target did not get the special bonus.

What was the target for the special bonus? To this day, that has not been communicated. The billable year ended a month ago! Rumor has it the target for the special bonus was 2000 client billable hours, as opposed to the regular 2000 hour target that includes 200 hours of non-client work.

This is the game that Arnold Porter is playing, except at least they have the decency to move the goal posts 10 days BEFORE the end of the billable year.

Let there be no confusion. Baker Botts. Did. Not. Match.

Cowardly move, Baker Botts.
