Great experience at the Ausländerbehörde

It’s me again… with unicorn experiences in Berlin

In September when I shared my good experience with registering for my Anmeldung, my friends said things like “wait until you got to the Ausländerbehörde”. I think I was so nervous about this that I showed up for my appointment which was today, yesterday lol. Anyways, woke up today and went there and I was very anxious the whole time, kept double checking my documents etc.

I get there, my number gets called and a lady named Lea greets me with a smile. Turned out that I came too early to apply for my permit because my visa expires in February. I thought she would turn me away but she said she would try submit the application anyways cause I told her I’m traveling out of the country next week.

Everything went well, she was very patient and very kind, even cracked a few jokes. After I was done, I told her I was very nervous during the process and thanked for being kind. I felt like I needed to let her know this so she can know her kindness makes a huge difference.

My point is, while I don’t discount anyone’s bad experiences but take everything with a grain of salt

Edit: This was in Keplerstraße and Lea is in room 208 and I don’t speak any German yet
