Beauty Predictions 2025 (after spending a lot of time on Tik Tok)

These predictions are based on trends I’ve noticed Gen Z embracing on TikTok!

Hair: Pin-straight hair hasn’t been trendy for a while, and that’s not changing anytime soon. Hair that feels full of life is in (think natural curls, waves, and textures).

Short hair is still going strong, but the heavily layered look is on its way out. Bangs aren’t getting much love right now, but light face-framing layers are in, nothing heavy, just subtle ones around the front. Lots of volume is also on its way out.

Generally, we start seeing simpler, more uniform lengths.

When it comes to color, it’s all about natural browns (neither jet black nor bleached blonde is getting much love). Balayage and heavy highlights are out. Instead, lowlights are making a comeback: natural-looking ones that add just a bit of dimension.

Simple, effortless, soft, clean and healthy is what gen-z are after rn.

Make Up: Eyeshadow is taking a backseat (again) (maybe just a soft brown to contour the lids). For more dramatic looks, it’s all about glitter covering the entire lid. Mascara remains a staple.

Black winged liner is out, replaced by short brown wings. Brown eyeliner on the waterline is also trending.

Highlighting is optional now, and when it’s used, it’s subtle, just a soft glow without obvious glitter. Glow-y blushes are often preferred over traditional highlighters.

Blush is still big but leaning more natural. Contouring isn’t as popular, except maybe a touch on the nose. Shimmery bronzers are in, especially for the warmer months.

Neutral lip liners are trending, while lipsticks are less popular. Lip glosses are still the favorite, with longer-lasting formulas becoming more common.

Skincare: Skincare in 2025 is all about simplicity. Minimal routines with hydrating, gentle products are key (no harsh chemicals or aggressive exfoliation). The focus is on working with your skin, not against it. It is all about hydration and achieving plump, healthy-looking skin. It’s less about fighting your skin or targeting imperfections and more about nourishing it.

Gentle, hydrating ingredients like peptides, ceramides, and niacinamide are trending. The focus is on minimal routines with multitasking products, just a couple of steps that do it all.

Those are my thoughts on what’s trending for 2025! Of course, everyone should do whatever makes them feel great! What do you think of these predictions? Are you planning to follow any of them, or do your own thing?
