Beagle and Cat

Hello everybody, i have a 12 year old guy just like any other beagle a sweetheart and mostly a couch potato. My girlfriend has to move in prett soon and she has a cat. With my experience with him on walks and around the neighborhood cats he seems to be interested, but im not sure if hes looking to be aggressive. Im just a little nervous about it. Any of you have cats? Did they grow up together or was it a late pairing? Any and all advice is welcome. Thank you
