Help with basics

so i got a new coffee machine and a grinder , how many grams of whole beans do i need for a shot of espresso , ? And for how many seconds should i grind the beans , . since the grinder works with a second system (and ofc coarse or fine ) . And for how many seconds should i let the espresso machine running to get right amount of coffee (liquid) I work as a bartender and i sometime i can make some late art but our grinder and espresso machine are automatic both grinding and extraction of coffee are pre-timed. And do people spray water on the ground coffee in videos before putting the thingy in the espresso machine ? Thanks in advance
