why is conservatism so popular with christians?

conservatism and christianity shouldn't really be as intertwined as it is, it's disturbing how closely associated those 2 things are, especially in the united states.

i could see if jesus resurrected and was a republican, but honestly if jesus was alive right now, i don't think he would've been a republican or a democrat. both sides, right wing and left wing, have made it clear on plenty of occasions that they ain't exactly christ-like, or as "for humanity" as either side claims to be. if this jesus character was actually here, he would most likely reject both sides and just do his own thing, or start his own party, or both.

and thats why idk why conservatism and christianity are so interwined, now a lot of left wingers are christians too but usually they ain't as strict religiously. not defending left wing, as they have their corrupt things too, but i'm just saying that a real christ-like christian would follow.. idk, christ? instead of these right wing politicians
