AC: Origins - why considered the best?
TL/DR: bought AC:Origins, missed the magic of the game, feeling lost, betrayed, sad.. where magic?
Hi guys,
I played AC2, brotherhood and revelations (revelations was the least fun for me so I stopped with AC series). Just 3 months back I wanted to try this series again and from all the discussions, I learnt that the AC: Origins is considered the best of open world.
Open world and Egypt theme? Egypt that I was obsessed with when I was young? Okay, all in!
Aaand, I had fun for maybe 4 hours before it became a slog. So much repetitive content, progression walls, no challenge with stealth..
"Okay this game is not for me, it is probably aimed for more passive gamers seeking story without hair pulling difficulty" and I was okay with it.. I still finished it only to be sure I didn't quit "just before the fun started"
But this "okay with it" was crushed by my wife who is not a gamer but enjoys the stories of games I play / tries some challenges to see the skill needed to pass, but hardly plays something alone.
She was bored to death.. she asked me if I can still refund it.. if I do not want to just uninstall and make it done.. how there is no point in finishing it..
So can YOU, the actual fanbase tell me, where the magic of origins is?.. I probably missed something.. or is the AC series just so far away from brotherhood days that it's just no longer for me?..
I miss the feeling of being actual assassin.. the origins made me feel more like superhero.. also the game length was artificial.. I know, big studio, big money, we need to show the world our game is worth the money / hours, but in the end it made me burned out..
