What's life like in St. Gallen?

Hello! I am considering moving to the city of St. Gallen for a job offer, but I've never been there. Any feedback on the city? I am wondering what life is like there and if the city is lively. Are there nice events during the week/weekends? Is it easy to make friends? I've been to Switzerland only once and visited Fribourg, which I found a little boring. I am 27 years old and don't have a family of my own.
