Is kissing meant to be appealing?

So I don't love kissing. Specifically, I don't love long periods of just kissing. It doesn't make me aroused, doesn't change the way I feel in the moment, the mouth noises are gross and anything involving tongue makes me gag. I like a nice kiss on the cheek or a quick kiss on the lips. But honestly I could probably go the rest of my life never kissing again.

It's hard not to feel like a total weirdo for disliking something most people love. Like I've heard alloy equate kissing to communication. I had a friend tell me that they require kissing during sex because they prefer "sex with communication rather than no connection at all" which i don't get at all. Like, it's kissing... how is that communication? I really don't see what the rest of the world sees in this
