I Don't Get the Drama and I just Enjoy Apex Legends - Am I the Only One?
Since the very first day of Ranked changed seasons ago, players started to hate on Apex more and more, player count keeps dropping (at least on PC) and EA managing this is complete crap, but... I don't care?
If I lived on Apex 12h+ a day, I get the streamers and competitive teams being angry at some changes or choices, but for the 99% of the player base, stuck in Plat, with no way of grinding enough to even reach D3, what's the point of caring so much?
Never spent any money on the game, it still is the best FPS I ever played since day0 and every time I stop playing for a couple of months, I see myself getting back on the instant I try the competition (spoiler: there is none, change my mind, and it's confirmed after each and every BR attempt, from Hyperscape to Off The Grid, and yes also Warzone with that shitty weapon system and meta).
I just enjoy it, it seems like people started hating just because everyone is hating, I get that there are good reasons and raising awareness and getting them to do something is still good, but I really feel like watching everyone else blood bath while I just enjoy the game.
Not everyone here is > D3 or lives on Apex enough to care this much, it seems really exaggerated to the point of being comical.
Changes aren't always bad
I am hyped for the new season dropping today, and changes are not always for the worse, for example I really prefer having the trailers the day of release, I am hyped as hell and I would love to see what I can play - update - and actually play the new content, it's just more fun... without having to wait 2 weeks of random trailers and reveals to the point of knowing everything new that will come days before the release.
By the way I think the same about anime, series and movies, why hyping up a movie 1 year earlier, by the day of release I would've lost all the interest, the time window is just too wide and the amount of content out there is too much to keep my attention, if you have something good to offer you wouldn't even need trailers at all.
Now Linux hating, really?
I use Linux every day for work, never for gaming, and I get why they choose to remove the game from the platform, it is a very much dead investment of time and energy and it opens up more exploits, people FIND more exploits on Linux and then use them for developing cheats on other platforms, people still don't get this and they think they removed Linux to avoid having those 10 players of which 3 hackers from there? It is nonsensical! It's just free hating without any reasoning.
I would prefer to point this energy towards single player games and software that just avoid Linux for no reason at all, instead of multiplayer, competitive games that actually have a good reason to avoid the platform.
OG Apex, was not that good
You really don't remember Masters ratting out to Pred in first ranked seasons? A now Plat player could get Masters badge very easily, RP system was just too easy to exploit. No one remembers having third parties at every fight in OG King's Canyon, Alternator Hammerpoint, no one remembers buggy movement, instant Wraith Q, all seem to be good memories but back then it was complete utter bullshit.
Everyone is acting like the game is shit, while I still think that it could be better, the good changes and managing don't get attention, while the small microscopic mistake is elevated.
Just enjoy the game for God's sake!
