Nurse sedation for TAVT
There is a cardiologist that is suggesting that he should start doing TAVRs with nurse sedation. He believes that having an anesthesiologist help with the case just slows him down. I personally don’t care because he’s an arrogant egomaniac and wouldn’t mind him calling for our help when this backfires. Just wondering, are there any other hospitals doing this? If so, what happens if something catastrophic happens, is there cardiac anesthesia on standby? Or do they just assume the risk that there may not be anesthesia available? Thanks
